Appointments are generally about 50 minutes.
The expectation for new clients is to meet weekly at least until there is a good flow going (getting to know each other, learning a lot about the client, setting goals and making significant progress). Many clients continue weekly while others discuss a plan after some time to start meeting every other week. Dr. Lara does also meet with clients more than once per week in certain circumstances.

The full fee per clinical hour is $250. Couples and family therapy have a different fee than other services, which is $300 per clinical hour. Sliding scale fees are available for all services. Please inquire directly about fees for psychological testing and evaluations.

Dr. Lara accepts private pay clients and is an in-network provider with Aetna/Meritain, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Carelon, Northwell Direct, and Optum (Oscar, Oxford, United Health Care).
Private pay clients can request a monthly statement of services which may be submitted to your insurance provider for partial reimbursement of therapy fees.
Reimbursement rates vary by insurance company and plan. Please check with your individual insurance carrier regarding reimbursement for out-of-network providers.

Many clients are not able to keep the same weekly time and need to change the day/time of their appointment every week. Others prefer to keep the same time every week. Dr. Lara is able to accommodate for all of these different needs.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost over the course of one (1) year.
Under new law (2022), healthcare providers are required to provide an estimate of the cost of one (1) year of services to patients who either do not have insurance or who are not using insurance.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services and may request one at any time during the course of your care.
If you receive an invoice that is at least $400 greater than is outlined in your Good Faith Estimate, you are permitted to dispute the invoice.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

The full hour is reserved for you. It cannot typically be filled without a lot of notice and Dr. Lara really values being able to accommodate last minute appointment requests from current clients. For these reasons, any appointments canceled with less than four full days notice will be charged full fee. While Dr. Lara cannot bill insurance for late cancellations and missed appointments, she can bill you directly. These fees are waived for unpredictable life emergencies on an individual case by case basis.
Dr. Lara understands that people cannot always commit to appointments with this much notice. If this is true for you, you are able to use her Calendly up until the day of the appointment to schedule, when you are certain that you are able to attend.
